London Motorcycle show

I visited the London motorcycle show today at the ExCel centre out in docklands, east London, where, by the way, the Olympics will be held next year - all I can say is they'd better get a move on, the place still looks like a bomb site.

Anyway, I went to pick out my next bike, which being broke actually made it easier as I don't have to worry which one I can afford as I can't afford any of them - my choice being made solely on which one felt the best to sit on. Here's some photos.



This BMW R1200R caught my eye

This didn't look so cool

The new Ducatti Diavel - looks a bit unfinished to me, especially for 15k!

Not sure about this new Honda, how do they stop the oil leaking out?

I like the classics

The owner of this Triumph Rocket III trike Hearse was actually taking bookings at the show!

    Thanks for the pics. The Kawasaki W800 isn't available in the US, although I don't know how it would compete with the already reasonably priced Bonneville. I was surprisingly impressed with the Diavel at our MC show, it 'fit' much better than I expected. And the girls have nice.... assets.

    Well, Mr Diente, I think you should concentrate on the motorcycles, and not get drawn into the sort of blatant sexism exhibited by people like Mr Nikos. Young women shouldn't wear that kind of clothing - and photos of them are best avoided.

    That Diavel looks like a very good ride.

    Troubador, thanks for your comments...the W800 looks very well made, and compared very well on price with the bonneville, although I'm not sure if there's a big enough market for this type of bike - but I guess if Kawasaki think there is, who am I to say. As for the Ducatti, it was more that it didn't look like a 'real' bike, the one at the show was the carbon edition and it reminded me of a styling exercise. And £15k is a lot of money for a bike anyway.

    Great pictures, thank you for sharing. It is nice to see some of the bikes that are available in other countries.

    I would hope that most people aren't offended by the pictures of ladies you posted. I think it was quite 'cheeky' of you. Well done sir.

    When I've been to that show in the past, I found it a bit lacking in something. Not sure what....ah....ah....ah.....soul? Looks like it was better this year in that respect.

    Thanks for the comments folks - Affer, I thought this years show was the best since it's been at the excel, helped no doubt by a really large good-natured crowd.
